This project started off to just as a painting series I am working on. But I always like to think how can I take my painting and but them into a design format and how does the illustration or painting work with the concept I cam e up with. Usually it a thought pops into my mind and and I have to follow through with it. This was a odd but fits the painting so I went out to come up with some cover ideas. I knew what I wanted when I started, but as usual the design did not work out well. The painting totally dictated the design, so instead of fighting with it and trying to make it work. I step back and let it tell me what and how the design should go...the painting is done in traditional watercolor. I built all the mock up from scratch with Adobe Stager using my 3D knowledge. Type design was all done in Adobe Illustrator. The whole project was laid out in Adobe illustrator, then moved to Stager t make the mock ups...

This usually allows me to test out concepts and design theories I am working on. I also do this to show my students my work and how I handle this project or problem or story to tell. I always want to show my students how you can incorporate your own artwork into your design and then put it into a mock up. I also post my projects via social media so they ca see that I practice what I preach.
